You know your kids have flown the nest when…

You may have seen our blog on how to update your home once your kids have moved out and got a place of your own, but what how will your kids flying the nest really affect your day-to-day life?

1.

You regain control of the remote control.   No more ‘Made in Chelsea’ repeats.  YAY!

2.

You’ve left the cream cake you worked so hard to make in the fridge and it’s still there when you get home.

3.

You’ve always thought you would turn their old room into a gym once they left… but now that they have you can’t quite bring yourself to.

4.

Your washing load has reduced by half.  And ironing no longer requires its own date in the diary.

5.

You can listen to your favourite music from the seventies and eighties without the eye-rolling you’re used to getting.

6.

You can take a long relaxing bath without a queue forming at the bathroom door.

7.

Your children actually nag you for that home cooked Sunday roast (instead of a take away pizza) when they visit.

8.

You don’t have to fake interest in the latest music/ YouTube video/fashion or video games.

9.

You can retire your taxi service.

10.

If the house alarm goes off in the middle of the night, it may actually be a burglar and not your 19 year old coming in from a night out.
