New Spring Curtain launch for 2015

Plumbs are launching 22 brand new curtain and blind fabrics for Spring 2015.  These new designs will join our already vast range of over 800 fabrics, and will be available in a huge range of styles including; stripes, florals, checks, and plains to suit both contemporary and traditional tastes.

Our Ashbourne – Teal curtains feature a modern small foliage design on a neutral base, which is perfect for the Spring/Summer months.  We’ve co-ordinated this design with our beautifully textured Mezzo blind.

AHB TEA P1

Talisker - Azure is a beautiful check. This fabric can be made into both curtains and blinds and in a choice of 7 different colourways, including softer hues such as ‘Natural and ‘Duck Egg’.

TLK AZR P1

Our Maypole curtain in Rouge colourway features a simple yet elegant trellis design that would work well in modern or traditional interiors.  We’ve added a statement blind (Plush – Fuchsia) to really bring out the Rouge detail in the curtains.

MYP ROU P2

Our bold Lottie curtains in Teal colourway really add some wow factor to this window dressing.  This fabric features a slightly textured floral design on a plain coloured base.  Our brand new voile fabric - Anais in Marble helps soften the Teal and add extra privacy to the window.

Happy New Year

January’s here, the decorations have been taken down and we’ll still be finding pine needles in the carpet for weeks, so it’s not surprising that January can seem a sombre month.

With that in mind we’ve searched for the most beautiful interiors we could find in order to lift your spirits…

Happy NY 1

This design mixes different styles and materials to create an effortlessly cool space.  The mid-century furniture adds a retro feel to the living room and contrasts perfectly with the modern and industrial lighting.

Happy NY 2

Gallery walls have been popular for a while but we love the creativeness of this one.  The colours of the artwork blend to match the walls, which make the vintage frames really pop.  By adding a few more modern frames the look is kept much more up-to-date and in keeping with the rest of the room.

Happy NY 3

Darker shades of grey can be hard to use especially if you want to create a light and airy space, however by keeping woodwork white and adding a bold colour you can really brighten up the room.  Orange is a great contrast colour to grey and we especially like the way this tangerine hue has been used to co-ordinate the furnishings.

 Happy NY 4

Purple is a big trend for the season but it can be overpowering.  By keeping walls simple and introducing purple shades through furniture and accessories you can easily control the overall effect of the look.

If your home needs a lift after the festivities, why not call Plumbs today to speak to one of our expert home consultants.

Current Trend: Contemporary Prints

Contemporary fabrics and prints are great if you want a change from florals or simple plains, and will work across many styles, such as sleek and minimal or bold and eclectic.

If you’re looking for some inspiration take a look at what we think are some of the best ways in corporate a contemporary print in your home…

Bright & Bold

AMI GPH P1

We’ve completely fallen for this bold new addition to the Prestige Collection.  This contemporary design called ‘Amari’ features a trellis leaf like pattern with splashes of colour and a deep charcoal trim. We’ve reupholstered this fabric onto a chair with light wooden features to give a slight retro feel.  This fabric is perfect if you’re looking to give one piece of furniture in the room some wow factor!

Muted & Understated

 Current Trends

By choosing contemporary patterns in one or two shades like these above, you can easily modernise a look without running the risk of clashing with other designs.  More neutral colour schemes such as this dusky Grey look great when teamed with bolder flashes colour, like the sunshine yellow scatter cushions and accessories.

Stunning Stripes

MITRA_BERRY_p1

Stripes are one of the easiest ways to create a contemporary look, and they co-ordinate with most other styles such as florals or graphic prints.  To keep the look interesting choose stripes with various widths and colours such as our Mitra fabric in Berry colourway.

If you would like any advice on creating a new look in your home speak to one of local Home Consultants who will guide you through our huge range of furniture fabrics all in the comfort of your home and at no cost.

Tropical Brights

From parrots to palm trees this trend is sure to brighten up your home!

Tropical 1

This palm tree wallpaper creates a strong style statement when teamed with accessories in co-ordinating colours and a mix of wood finishes.  These Eames inspired Eiffel DSW chairs shown here in Blue are one of the must have pieces for the year and work with almost any trend.

Tropical 2

This wall mural is more toned down than some of the tropical style wallpapers we’ve seen.  This look is kept very natural with the rustic style table and chairs and plants.

Tropical 3

Scatter cushions are great if you don’t want to redo your whole room, and are easily changeable when you want to update the look.  We love this deep blue cushion with bright bold parrot and floral motif.

Tropical 4

Ok, so pineapple ornaments may be a throwback to the seventies, but this is a much more sophisticated way to incorporate the trend.  You can find accessories like these in block colours quite easily but if you would like to add your own touch why not spray paint the bottom and fade upwards like the one above.

This trend is all about being daring with colour and patterns so can be a little daunting for most.  We would suggest keeping these bold prints and colours to cushions, throws, artwork, and accessories in order to match to your upholstery.  If you would like any help with updating any fabrics in your home, a Plumbs Home Consultant will be able to advise on the best options for you, all in the comfort of your own home and for free.
