When Ann, our recent customer, inherited a large grey sofa, she was stuck with what to do! It was a good shape and size for her home, and the furniture was in great condition, but it just wasn’t her style.
Not wanting to waste good quality furniture, Ann began to look into the possibility of reupholstering it – providing the sofa with a new lease of life, whilst keeping it out of landfill. Read on to find out all about the transformation.

In order to match her modern apartment, Ann decided to go with an elegant grey and pink colour scheme for her furniture. This was easier said than done, however, as every design house she approached told her there was no pink in stock.
Nearly ready to give up, Ann called Plumbs and arranged a free, in-home consultation. When Paul, the consultant, arrived, they discussed Ann’s vision and he immediately understood the look she was hoping for.
‘It was as if he climbed inside my brain,’ Ann told us, ‘It was amazing!’
After browsing through a variety of swatches, Ann finally found her perfect pink fabrics, complemented by a grey hopsack design. They also discussed her dining chairs, and decided on a two tone pink theme to match what she had chosen earlier.
To finish the look, Paul suggested a grey check design for the rocking chair – a look Ann hadn’t previously considered. Seeing the swatches, she just knew that it was the right look for her furniture and would complete the look perfectly.
The final look
With the fabrics chosen, Ann’s furniture was whisked away to our Preston factory, and the work began! Each item was restyled by our expert craftsmen – restoring and rejuvenating with care. We’re proud to say that the final result was a total transformation.
