Here at Plumbs, we've been creating bespoke home furnishings for over 60 years - and now we're looking to expand our sales team in the Plymouth area. As the UK's leading provider of made-to-measure sofa covers, curtains and handcrafted reupholstery, we generate over 60,000 UK sales opportunities each year through national and digital advertising and as a self-employed Plumbs Sales Consultant you will be responsible for following up on all customer enquiries within your allocated postcode area.
As a self-employed agent, you will manage your own diary - offering the flexibility to suit your lifestyle. Your key role will be to assist and advise customers about our products and services to provide the home transformation they are seeking. Full training on our products and processes will be provided, with ongoing support from regional management and head office when required.

Commission: Variable (OTE £30,000+)
Key Requirements: All candidates must have a full UK driving license, access to a vehicle for attending appointments and a iPad from which to run our sales app. For your benefit and ours, living on or local to the sales area you are applying for is preferred.
Though it is beneficial to have prior experience in sales, we welcome applications from all those with a passion for people facing roles and self-motivated, friendly attitude. Interest in home interiors and design is beneficial, along with a familiarity with using an iPad.

When it comes to our products and processes, full training will be provided. Our in-house experts will guide you through everything you need to know and be on-hand when you need them afterwards too. This course will also give you the chance to meet people from a range of departments so you know who to contact when you have any queries going forward, and see our bespoke products being made for yourself.
The only requirements we ask our candidates to have are a full UK driving license, access to a vehicle for attending appointments and an iPad from which you can run our sales app. Ideally you will also live within or near the area you are applying to cover.
As a self-employed consultant, this is partially up to you. Local leads will be distributed to you via our sales app, it is then your responsibility to contact these customers to answer their questions and arrange a convenient home visit. A typical day may include any of the following tasks...
- Contacting new enquiries
- Visiting customers to discuss our products and provide a quote
- Following up with customers you have seen
- Measuring customer furniture after an order is taken
- Returning to fit the products
