Loose sofa covers easy care guide

Keep the Showroom finish for years and years

Following the simple instructions in this care guide will help you to keep your covers looking as good as new for many years to come. Choose between the sofa cover options below.

Stretch (Easifit) loose covers

Care instructions

  • Washing your sofa covers regularly will help maintain that showroom look and restore the natural 'give' built into the fabric to help maintain their beautiful fit.
  • Easifit sofa covers are guaranteed no shrink and colour fast. Always refer to the washing label sewn inside the covers.
  • There is no need to iron your Easifit made to measure sofa covers.
  • Loose cushion covers should be rotated regularly to give even wear.
  • Plump up your feather, soft back and seat cushions regularly.
  • Refitting after washing is easy. Your sofa covers will have recovered their original shape and will respond to firm handling.
  • Try to position your furniture away from direct sunlight to minimise fading.

Washing instructions

  • Please check the label sewn into your sofa covers for cleaning instructions.
  • Many of our fabrics can be machine washed or hand washed at the same temperature - 30°C. (Easifit covers can be washed at 40°C).
  • All components of the sofa cover should be washed at the same time using a no-colour enhancing liquid detergent.
  • Lightly spin or line dry.
  • DO NOT tumble dry.

Refit your sofa covers in 4 easy steps

1

Remove all loose cushions. Open the zip at the base. Start at the back of the furniture and pull firmly over. Locate the label at the back of your new sofa covers and pull over the top of the furniture until the sofa covers fit snugly over the top edge. (Note: Easifit Covers do not have a zip)

2

Continue the process over the arms and the seat base, tucking in firmly where appropriate between the back and seat base, and arm and seat base. Ensure that any piped edges are positioned correctly on the arm scrolls.

3

Pull down and smooth the front, sides and back and ensure the valance is straight and at floor level. At this point close the zip on the outer edge of the sofa covers.

4

Pull on any separate cushion covers, again ensuring that any piped edges are straight. Replace the cushions.

Woven (Designer & Traditional) loose covers

Care instructions

  • Vacuum your cushion or sofa covers regularly using a brush attachment, as accumulated dirt will accelerate fabric wear.
  • Traditional and Designer covers can be cool ironed if necessary.
  • Plump up your feather and soft back and seat cushions regularly.
  • Regular redressing of the sofa covers will be required to maintain appearance. This includes the straightening of the seams on your sofa covers. Any excess fabric should be tucked into the pockets between the arm/back and seat. Valances may need to be pulled down into position.
  • Try to position your furniture away from direct sunlight to minimise fading.
  • Clean accidental spills as soon as possible. When spot cleaning, test in a small area which isn't visible.
  • Note on Chenille and Velvet fabrics - the pile will flatten with use. This may result in a 'shaded' area on contact areas but this is normal for this type of fabric. Vacuum using a brush attachment to reduce flattening.
