We recently created bespoke, removable sofa covers for Mel, who runs an interiors account called AtHomeWithMelMel, so we thought we’d ask her a few questions about her experience with Plumbs and her top tips for styling a home.You can visit Mel’s profilehere.

How did you first discover Plumbs?
“I came across Plumbs in a house interiors magazine”
Why did you decide to go for new covers instead of replacing your furniture?
“We decided to go for new covers as opposed to a new sofa because of time! My husband works and is also at uni doing history, I’m a housewife and work part time for the National Trust. We have a very tight schedule and that doesn’t lend itself to wasted hours sofa hunting.
We loved the sofa we had, however, it wasn’t practical having fixed covers, and we needed something we could wash! So time and practically confirmed Plumbs was the company for us!”

How did you find the process of ordering with Plumbs?
“The order process was so easy; an email, a phone call and we were away!
Salvatore (the consultant) was very prompt, informative and knowledgable – it gave us real confidence in our choice! The measure up went like a dream.
After our 8 week wait time, Salvatore gave us a call and we arranged the fitting. Again this went perfectly. At no point was Salvatore over selling or hard sell… He just respectfully led us in the right direction, and clearly this is down to his years of expertise and excellent training.”
What was your reaction when you saw your new covers?
“I was beyond thrilled; lighter, more modern and most importantly washable! They have lifted the whole room and given it the modern, yet classic look I was after!”

Finally, what would be your top interiors tip?
“My top styling tip is go with a neutral backdrop, then add colour with gorgeous scatter cushions, throws and curtains. I’m more than thrilled with the quality and service from Plumbs and I’d wholeheartedly recommend!”
