Plumbs are pleased to announce the opening of a new sewing unit within the Keystone Enterprise Factory, Thetford. The factory will initially employ 6 staff who formerly worked for furniture maker Multiyork, who recently ceased trading. Plumbs aim to build on our reputation as the leading UK cover maker to provide a simple solution for owners of Multiyork suites who wish to replace their covers.
Rob Page, our Manufacturing Director said “We very much welcome these key workers from Multiyork who will work alongside our existing teams and share their invaluable knowledge – I am sure the new employees will be a great asset to Plumbs and add to our existing skill set and help expand our loose cover options.”
Our Managing Director, Sarah Page (grand-daughter of founder, Tom Plumb) added, “The Plumbs family are delighted to be investing in a new unit and believe the experience and expertise of the new staff will contribute to the continuing growth of the business”.
Plumbs is still owned and run by the same family that established the company over 60 years ago. All their products are made-to-measure in their UK manufacturing units employing more than 300 people across their 4 sites (Head Office in Preston in Lancashire, with satellite units in Dover and Redhill alongside with the new Thetford factory).
The new factory is within a building owned by the Keystone Development Trust , a not for profit enterprise, that delivers support to communities within its area through a diverse range of projects, funded by the income it generates as well as funding from public bodies and other grant making organisations.
