When Dominique found that her grey furniture no longer worked within the style of her home, she was reluctant to entirely replace the furniture. Her large corner unit, deep buttoned Chesterfield sofa, and matching armchair all worked perfectly within the space of the room, but the shade of fabric no longer sat quite right in the room’s palette.

That’s where we came in! Bespoke furniture covers and reupholstery from Plumbs offered the ideal solution for updating her favourite furniture, as opposed to replacing it. Plus, it was much more sustainable than seeing her furniture end up in landfill.

The first step was a free home visit with her local consultant. Together they used the tones of the room around them, combined with Dominique’s clear creative vision to curate a selection of fabrics that would complement the space. In the end, they settled on Perth Plain in Moss and Perth Plain in Dove. Dominique’s consultant was then able to guide which products would best suit each piece of furniture, such as reupholstery to best highlight the intricate deep buttoning of the Chesterfield sofa and armchair.

With all the details decided, it was down to our brilliant team of craftspeople to bring the vision to life. For the comfy corner unit, our traditional tailored covers were handcrafted directly onto the furniture, like a Savile Row suit, whilst the smaller sofa and chair were stripped back to their frames and rebuilt by our reupholstery team. Using skills honed over generations, each piece of furniture was carefully transformed to last the years to come, in addition to giving them a whole new stylish look.

When the furniture was returned, Dominique was delighted. Complimenting the quality and craftsmanship, she could hardly believe the transformation of her furniture, and was quick to style it and share with her friends and followers online – all of whom were equally wowed!
